It’s pretty difficult to get through a page of Mighty Avengers when every female character is in exactly the same pose. In addition to these two, there are girls in the same pose the page before and a few pages after. 

At least Stature is getting a drink, what’s Jocasta’s excuse?  Also, I love the one guy we SHOULD see the butt of has it completely obscured by shadow, and the other guys conveniently aren’t showing any butt, but both women have their butts prominently on display.

Isn’t Stature also like 16 years old?

I also am weirded out by Herc. His proportions just seem really off, like he has no thighs.

Yeah, the men have seemed to have misplaced several inches in their legs, possibly in order to add girth to their shoulders.

It’s really sad to see art so lazy and blatantly stereotypical. It looks like satire! 

I don’t even think it’s laziness.

Most artists have tough deadlines. Deadlines that don’t really leave room for errors. Things have gotten better in the last year or so at Marvel, as they are now working further ahead and rotating artists on arcs.

But I can imagine this panel/page was a case of “fuck, this is off, there is no good way to fix things without either being late or taking time away from another page”

It’s also an establishing shot, so it’s.. not exactly important other than knowing who is in the scene.

Who drew it by the way? As it looks sort of like Yu’s style, but off.
