One of my fave gags under Bryan Q. was that Steph would pop up and do the “shhh” motion at people. It really sets apart her entrances from the rest of the bats in that it’s centered on letting people know she’s there to help as opposed to just showing up out of the shadows. It’s this tiny, funny reminder that the way Steph works IS different from the rest of the clan, and it’s based more on the idea that people want to help and be helped as opposed to the idea that everything is terrible. (“Everything is terrible” is much more Bruce’s perspective than Dick’s, but Dick’s had a similar perspective a few times.)
